The Humming Effect
Sound Healing for Health and Happiness
By Jonathan Goldman and Andi Goldman
Healing Arts Press

I’m sure you’ve heard of sound healing, such as singing bowls, tuning forks, and various other instrumental and vocal techniques. Now we have the simplest one of all: humming! Jonathan Goldman is one of the leading sound healers in the world and is well-known for his various musical programs and workshops.

In this book he wrote with his wife Andi, we learn about the physics behind humming, how to hum, how to use intention with our humming, and how to direct the energy to the place in our bodies we want it to go. Amazingly the science behind humming is solid and the best part is anyone can do it as long as they can hum. No expensive instruments required.

Included with the book is a website you can go to and hear samples and instructions about humming as well as a 17-minute humming session where you can hear many hundreds of people humming together. If you’re like most people you either already hum during your day or used to. What a gift to learn how to do it intentionally for health and happiness. I plan to give it a try and see what happens.
