The Art of Mindful Origami

The Art of Mindful Origami
Soothe the Mind with 15 Beautiful Origami Projects and Accompanying Mindfulness Exercises

Have you noticed how the world of arts and crafts and other forms of creativity are beginning to meld with the world of spirituality and mindfulness? Me, too, and I like it. The Art of Mindful Origami does this beautifully. It is an oversized book that explains the origins of origami and then presents the basic folds used in this craft followed by 15 specific projects one can make.

The book gives some beautiful paper, some colored and some black and white waiting to be colored by you, along with very specific instructions for the projects. There’s a box, drinking cup, crane, star, jumping frog and even a Samurai helmet. With each project there’s also a mindfulness practice to use in everyday living: standing like a tree, riding the waves of your breath, and mindful giving.

The Art of Mindful Origami is a brilliant creation and I can hardly wait to start folding some of these projects.
