By Maetreyii MA
Ananda Guru Kala Publications

Based on the ancient teachings of yoga known as The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, Living Love is a great exploration of the practices of what are called the Yama and Niyama. The practices of Yama explore those actions to be avoided in order to live a noble life and the Niyama are the practices we want to engage in. A thorough understanding is given for each as well as practical ways to use these practices in daily life.

The Yama are:
Non-injury, benevolent truthfulness, non-stealing, transmuting the desire mind, and simplicity and generosity.

The Niyama are:
Purity of body and mind, serenity and equanimity, discipline and selfless love, reflection upon the nature of that soul, surrender to God.

The book goes even deeper, touching on compassion, facing the shadow, healing the mind, and integrating the teachings. There’s a great section about how to put these teachings into practice that will prove very useful for those who want to make serious use of this book and its teachings.
