How to Heal Yourself When No One Else Can
A Total Self-Healing Approach for Mind, Body, & Spirit
by Amy B. Scher
Have you been working on some sort of health issue and don’t see much progress? Or, are you interested in enjoying better health even though you don’t have any one particular issue? This book is for you. Amy Scher had a host of physical issues stemming from Lyme disease and details her story so we get a really good idea of what she did to heal. She did work with doctors and other providers, but it was only when she took command of her own healing that she finally did heal.
She shares the steps to go through to create your own healing plan. Sher does not discourage the use of doctors or other providers. What she does is lay the choice of what to do or don’t do squarely with you.
There’s an excellent introduction to the energy body and self-healing while detailing her approach. Scher then leads the reader through a three-part healing process that she has used with herself and many clients.
First is surrender, accept and flow. Second, comes identifying and releasing blockages and, third, changing your relationship with stress.
She offers specific techniques like chanting, praying, grounding, tapping your thymus, moving and directing energy, chakra tapping, emotional freedom technique (EFT), nose breathing, and others. With everything, she encourages you to make these practices your own and to do them in ways that work for you.
After leading us through these processes, she gives the final piece and that is to put it all together and create your own unique healing map. She puts you squarely in the driver’s seat. I have been working with the book for about two weeks and find it refreshing as well as effective. I love the compassion and humor brought to this sometimes challenging issue of healing.
